- The per capita availability of milk was recorded around 355 grams per day during 2016-17. The report also observed that higher stocks of milk products with cooperatives had resulted in reduction in working capital.
- Under the scheme, over 62 lakh children of 66,506 government schools and madrasas will be provided fresh milk thrice a week with midday meals. Students from Class 1 to 5 will be given 150 ml milk and those from Class 6 to8 will be provided 200 ml. The CM said that milk supply in schools should be given to woman milk producing cooperatives.
